Budget travel has a fee problem: teaser prices, surprise charges, and services that used to be free quietly turning into revenue lines. We run a hostel, not a fee machine. Here is what we hold ourselves to — in public, so you can hold us to it too.
What we publish is what you pay, plus only the taxes the law requires — shown before you commit. No resort fees, no "service" fees, no surprise line items at the desk.
Same-day luggage storage for our guests is free — before check-in and after check-out. We remember when breakfast used to be free elsewhere; we're not playing that game with your backpack.
A bag is a bag: one flat daily rate for any standard size, published on our rate card. The only premium is for genuinely oversized items (bikes, skis) that take real space — and it's disclosed before you book.
The few extra charges we have (unstripped linens, excessively dirty rooms, smoking indoors) exist to protect the next guest and the people who clean up. They are disclosed before check-in, and they are avoidable by everyone who treats the place with basic care.
Bookings are prepaid to guarantee your bed — and for direct bookings, refunded in full if you cancel before your check-in date. The one disclosed exception: clearly designated special-event periods (like the Osheaga weekend) are non-refundable, and we say so in bold before you book. Security deposits are charged to your card at check-in; we total any ancillary charges and authorized deductions, then refund the balance exactly 12 days after check-out — and depending on your bank, it can take up to 30 days to show on your statement; that delay is your bank's, not a fee of ours.
No advertising trackers on our website, no selling of personal information, no marketing without consent. We collect what we need to host you, and delete online requests after 12 months. See our privacy policy.
If a charge doesn't match this pledge, tell us before you leave — we correct bills, we don't defend them.
