hubspotutk and __hstc, up to 6 months) to recognise returning visitors and, if you are already a contact of ours, to link your visits to your record. Declining changes nothing about how the site works. With the same consent, we also load the OpenAI advertising pixel (script from bzrcdn.openai.com, reporting to bzr.openai.com), which measures whether a visit from an OpenAI ad led to a check-in or a booking; it stores a browser identifier (such as oaiq_consent and an oppref click reference) and receives the event type, an internal event id and, for a confirmed direct booking, room revenue in Canadian cents excluding taxes, deposits and fees — never your name, email or phone. With the same consent, our server reports eligible direct-booking events using the advertising click reference. A secure first-party __Host-pvt_ads cookie links that consented session for up to 30 minutes. Withdrawing consent stops future browser measurement and asks our server to suppress pending events; events already sent cannot be recalled. You can change your choice at any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer. No advertising cookie is set before you accept.Only to process and confirm your reservation or luggage booking, provide help you request (including the optional AI assistant), carry out account changes you separately confirm, contact you about it, and meet legal obligations (e.g. lodging registers, tax). We do not sell personal information and we do not send marketing without your consent.
Form submissions are transmitted encrypted (TLS) and stored in Cloudflare infrastructure used by our website; a notification is delivered to our staff mailbox. Cloudflare operates a global network, so data may be processed outside Québec and Canada with contractual protections. Online requests are automatically deleted after 12 months. AI-assistant transcripts and the chat copy of their action details are also automatically deleted 12 months after the conversation's last activity, unless they must be preserved for an incident, dispute or legal obligation. If you confirm an action, the resulting arrival change or service/human-help request is also written to the separate operational booking or request record and may be included in a staff email; those records are retained as long as needed to provide the service, keep the booking record, resolve an incident or dispute, or meet a legal obligation. Deleting the chat does not reverse or delete that confirmed operational record. A metadata-only audit of a proposed action (action type, status, time and internal reservation identifier, but not the chat text) may remain with operational booking records for security and accountability. Email correspondence is retained as long as needed for the purposes above. Google sign-in data (your Google account identifier and the matched email address) is stored in the same Cloudflare infrastructure and kept only for as long as it may be needed to sign you back in to a reservation; it is never sold, never used for advertising, and is deleted on request as described in section 6.
You may ask to access or correct your personal information, withdraw consent, or ask us to delete information we no longer need, by writing to info@pvthostel.com. We respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
Access to stored requests is restricted and key-protected. If a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious injury, we will notify the persons concerned and the Commission d'accès à l'information as required by law.
We operate visible security cameras in certain common areas only — entrances, exits, reception and designated circulation areas. There are no cameras in guest rooms, dormitory sleeping areas, bathrooms, showers or changing areas, or anywhere else a person would reasonably expect privacy. Audio is not recorded unless expressly indicated and lawfully authorized.
Footage is collected for security purposes only: protecting guests, staff and property; controlling and investigating unauthorized access; preventing or investigating theft, vandalism, violence, fraud or other security incidents; confirming entries, exits and after-hours access; and responding to emergencies, complaints, insurance matters, legal proceedings or lawful requests from public authorities. It is never used for advertising, promotion, social media or continuous monitoring of individual guests.
Access to recordings is restricted to authorized personnel and service providers who need it for legitimate security, operational, legal or technical purposes. Recordings are kept only as long as reasonably necessary for these purposes, except where a longer period is required for an incident, investigation, insurance claim, dispute or legal obligation.
Signage identifies monitored areas before you enter them. Entering a monitored area means you are notified of and acknowledge the surveillance — it is not a waiver of your privacy rights and not permission to use your image for marketing. You may ask for access to footage concerning you, or its correction, by writing to info@pvthostel.com; where footage shows other people, we may need to mask them or limit access to protect their privacy. See also terms sections 6 and 6.1.
We may update this policy; the current version is always published at this address with its effective date.
